The Southern Appalachian Biodiversity Project continues to work on Wildlands Project implementation in conjunction with the Southern Appalachian Forest Coalition (SAFC). SAFC, a project of the Southern Environmental Law Center, is a coalition of fifteen regional environmental groups headquartered in Asheville, NC.

SAFC’s actions seem consistent with the Wildlands Project’s goals.

This newspaper article appeared after a two day meeting SAFC sponsored in Asheville urging the creation of a multi-million acre buffer around the Great Smokey National Park.

Perhaps it comes as no surprise that SAFC’s media "Guide to the Experts" would feature Dr. Reed Noss.
